A new book on the horizon, great! Enjoyed the Regrets article in Oldster. Several authors are writing about being able to live your life over, a local author just wrote about this, Mitch Album has one coming out this fall, and just recently read of another popular author writing in this vein. I enjoyed the local authors novel, When the World Shouts Loud, by Elizabeth Wehman. Yet, I agree with you that all of the wrong turns lead us to where we are now (68 here). I also agree that cooking can connect us with memories of our mothers. In fact, I made that delicious Swiss steak recipe that you posted about last month again today, using Delmonico steaks. Again, my husband told me, your mom would be proud of you, it does taste just like hers. Your Kitchen Yarns book is a fun read, I have checked it out several times. What a fun traveling schedule you have ahead, Key West, London, Tuscon, and Scotland. If the heather is in bloom in Scotland, take a picture to share with us!
Oooh! Excited to hear about this new book that’s percolating. The Obituary Writer is one of my favourite books of all time; I recommend it to everyone and was just talking about it with a friend over drinks last weekend!
When at the FCI, I passsed Gourmet Garage on the way to the parking garage, a favorite stop. Around the same time, I read Kitchen Yarns. I know what’s for dinner! Happy travels.
Just was communicating with our preferred guest house in Key West, and hear that it was monsooning down there! I'm envious -- we won't be back there til December.
The scale is telling me no more comfort food ! However baked Mosstaccioli is being made for dinner tonight! I love reading your Three Things. Mole , margaritas and knitting, yes please!
As I read your lovely mosaic of a post, I am sitting in Cancun, an accompanist to my husband's work conference, trying to enjoy the sun, ocean, and all-inclusive resort ("free" weak drinks!), while the wind is whipping in an unexpected and unfriendly way. We guests' smiles tighten when our napkins blow off the tables and the shade umbrellas invert at the mightier gusts. I can't help but wonder if this is the gods' way of poking us Americans and reminding us to do better.

I’m so glad you like Kitchen Yarns, Mary! And that the Salisbury steak is a hit. I’ll be sure to post pictures from my upcoming travels!
The rain is a sweet sound for us here in Los Angeles!

Thank you, Erin!
