I often bring my French press with me on local trips! Harder on overseas travel since I am a dedicated carry-on only disciple, but I completely agree home if where your coffee is.

I only do carry-on too! It’s amazing what can fit in those little bags.

We are about the same age and I too have a similar learn to sew experience with a Simplicity skirt. I’ve never given up but haven’t gotten much better. Thanks for the memory and laugh!

Love hearing what you’re up to, Ann! Peet’s Major Dicks is my fav too. Kindled my love of coffee as it actually tastes as good as it smells.

Funny Home Ec story. I decided my project would be my junior prom dress. Pretty high stakes right? Of course I plowed head first into a pattern and didn’t read all the details. I chose the wrong fabric. The dress, while totally gorgeous, slid open at the chest all night long. My date loved it. I was mortified. I’ve never sewn a garment since!

Enjoy London! My sister lives there in Crouch End (could it sound any more English?), she said the weather had been fab lately. I’m heading there in June, then to Denmark. Weather has been pretty nice in NYC this week too, green shoots of spring! Happy Travels!

Laughing about Mrs. Wiley's carrot colored eyebrows. What a visual.

Thank you for the book recs! I wrote them down and will start with A Long Way Home, after I finish the Greg Iles series I'm working on. Enjoyed the London pics, I guess I'm a country girl as the first beach picture spoke to me. It looked like a beautiful watercolor that my artist sister used to create. We always take a coffee pot along with coffee when we travel. I have not done crochet or knitting since 9th grade when I broke my foot, but your posts make me consider starting again. Like the others, I enjoy your 3 things posts, just as I do all of your books!

I travel with coffee and a filter set as well and I was going to mention the collapsible ones but it sounds like you've got that sorted. A friend told me she's purchased a collapsible tea kettle. Who knew?

Monmouth Coffee in London is excellent (on Monmouth Street near Covent Garden and also in Borough Market). Smart idea to travel with a filter!!
